Ownership

The SWRC enjoys a cooperative arrangement with many of the ranchers and private owners within the confines of the Walnut Gulch Experimental Watershed. The city of Tombstone is undergoing relatively fast growth, and the urban area within the watershed is growing. Much of the land is owned by the State of Arizona and is held in State Trust ownership. Small sections are owned and administered by the Bureau of Land Management.
